Wie immer sehr ausgeprägte Nase mit schwarzen Beeren, Lakritz und Schokolade. Sehr saftig am Gaumen mit Struktur und Eleganz im Mund. Voller abgerundeter Geschmack mit schönem Zusammenspiel von Holz und Wein. Langer schmelziger Abgang mit würzigen Noten.. Ein Wein der noch sehr viel Freude bereiten wird.

"The Grand Vin 2018 Château Fleur Cardinale checks in as a mix of 74% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in new French oak. It has integrated its oak elevage beautifully and while it has a kiss of modern character and polish, it still has loads of classic Saint-Emilion character, as well as minerality. Deep ruby/plum hued with a gorgeous bouquet of black cherries, white truffles, camphor, lead pencil, and exotic spices, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a beautifully balanced, layered texture, building, firm tannins, and a great finish. It's certainly in the same class as the 2015 and 2016, but the cellar is going to be your friend. This is the first vintage from 100% organic farming. Sadly, not much was made, as close to half the crop was destroyed by frost.

Château Croix Cardinale, Saint-Émilion, Grand Cru
Die neue Geschichte von La Maison Cardinale beginnt im Jahr 2001, als Dominique und Florence Decoster nach drei Jahrzehnten in der Porzellanindustrie in Limoges das Château Fleur Cardinale erwerben. Im Jahr 2017 übernahmen ihr Sohn Ludovic und seine Frau Caroline die Leitung des Familienweinguts und führten das Erbe der französischen Tischkultur fort, während sie gleichzeitig ihre eigene Vision einbrachten, die von Inspirationen aus anderen Ländern geprägt ist. Im Jahr 2024 gründeten sie La Maison Cardinale, eine Einheit, die das Château Fleur Cardinale, Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion, und das Château Croix Cardinale, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, vereint.
Das Château Fleur Cardinale erstreckt sich über 27,6 Hektar auf der Nordseite und produziert einen Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé. Die Nordseite eignet sich auch für die Produktion des Fleur Cardinale blanc mit der Appellation Bordeaux. Das Château Croix Cardinale umfasst 4 Hektar auf der Südseite und bringt einen Saint-Emilion Grand Cru hervor. Die Anbauflächen bestehen zu ca. 73% aus Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc und 7% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Die Vinifizierung erfolgt parzellenweise mit ausgewählten Hefen und temperaturkontrolliert. Für die Reifung werden Barrique, 500 L-Fässer, Edelstahltanks und Amphoren verwendet. Regelmäßige Verkostungen der einzelnen Chargen und das Anpassen an die Bedürfnisse entscheiden über den weiteren Ausbau.
Die Weine von Château Fleur Cardinale sind von Natur aus komplex und vollmundig, mit einem intensiven Aroma frischer Früchte, sowohl in der Nase als auch am Gaumen.
